This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge, and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. The qualification must be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.

Format: Hands-on demonstration and scenario-based exercises.

Candidates who achieve the requirements for qualifications will be awarded:

  • A certificate listing all units achieved, and
  • A certificate giving the full qualification title.

  • Design and manage systems for internal and external health and safety information flow.
  • Assess training needs, develop targeted programmes, and monitor competence improvement.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and implement cost-effective control measures.
  • Develop proactive and reactive monitoring frameworks to track safety performance and respond to incidents.
  • Create, implement, and review robust emergency response procedures.
  • Evaluate and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of safety management systems.
  • Monitor and integrate new health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain a CPD portfolio demonstrating competence, reflection, and ongoing improvement.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centers should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment. This qualification is approved for candidates aged 19+
